Can we use digital design to reduce loneliness among LGBT+ individuals?
That is the central question behind bloom – a platform and prototype developed as my final project in the Multimedia Design program.

The problem
Loneliness is a growing issue in Denmark – especially within the LGBT+ community. Studies show that up to 28% of LGBT+ people experience loneliness, with even higher rates among trans individuals. Despite this, there is a lack of accessible, centralized platforms that showcase relevant events and local communities, particularly outside of major cities.
bloom is a digital platform designed to help LGBT+ people discover relevant events and communities in their local area – tailored to their needs and interests.
The project consists of:
- An interactive Figma prototype of a mobile app
- A WordPress landing page for marketing the concept
- A visual identity centered on inclusion, accessibility, and the feeling of community

My role in the project
This project was developed as my final assignment in the Multimedia Design program and was carried out as a solo project. I was responsible for all aspects of the work – from concept development and user research to UX and UI design, wireframing, prototyping, user testing, WordPress development, branding, and strategic planning.

The project was developed using a Design Thinking approach and User Centered Design principles. Key methods and tools include:
- A user survey (28 responses via Google Forms)
- Development of personas based on Conzoom segmentation
- Lo-fi wireframes, moodboard and styletile
- An interactive prototype and user testing with 4 participants
The project was planned and documented in Notion, using a light version of the Scrum framework with weekly sprints.
The result

The bloom app prototype consists of four core features:
- Onboarding flow
- Homepage with search and filters
- Personal event calendar
- User profile and preferences
The WordPress landing page demonstrates how the platform could be marketed to its intended audience.
